Why Bingham is a great place to invest.

Bingham is a great location for a buy to let investment - the town was named in 2013 as the best place in England to bring up a family.

Bingham, which has a population of 9,000, topped a study that examined factors including quality of schools, childcare provision, affordability of living and crime levels.

The Family Investments survey identified that areas in the Midlands and the North of England are now more prominent thanks to more affordable housing in relation to the south.

The rental market has changed in recent years and it has grown in areas such as Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. There are lots of new build developments in Bingham and that is always an indication of a healthy rental market. 

Bingham is an ideal location for professionals looking to commute to Nottingham or Leicester but also looking for a great place to bring up a family.

Rising Court costs for Possession ..How to protect yourself

It’s always a sensible idea to make sure you have the right protection if you’re a landlord but new government plans to increase fees for the eviction court costs could make an oversight far more painful to your bank balance.

From the 22nd April 2014 the government plans to increase the cost of application for possession and accelerated possession claims from £175 to £280 and the cost of possession claim online is due to rise from £100 to £250.

This will effect landlords finding themselves in the already unfortunate position of having to start eviction proceedings if a tenant is in arrears or refuses to vacate a property. Thankfully these situations are quite rare but when they do occur, they can be very costly in court fees but also in unpaid rent and in some cases, property damage.
